Lab 01 app for iPhone and iPad

MWM LAB is a series of explorations of creativity on the iPhone: We want to give you access to the latest app experiments of our designers, engineers and developers. Play, test and break them. Give us feedback on what you like and don’t like, what works and doesn’t work. We want to share our freshest ideas with you directly and hope you come along with us for new exciting adventures in creativity on mobile !

PLAY LIKE A MAESTRO
LAB 01 is our first public prototype. It is a mobile implementation of the machine learning framework Piano Genie by Chris Donahue: You can play a full piano like a maestro with just 8 buttons.

PLAY WITHOUT TOUCHING THE SCREEN
In hand tracking mode, the app uses machine learning to track your hand movements so that you can play without touching the screen.

LET THE APP PLAY
In generative mode, you can let the app algorithms play automatically for you. You can as well play together with the app if you want.

CONNECT VIA MIDI
You can route MIDI out to other MIDI capable apps or external MIDI devices like hardware synthesizers. Explore new pathways in your musical ecosystem !
Please note: This is an experimental app, so some things might not always work the way you expect it. Let us know and we will try our best to fix it.
